Frotcom Web - Release notes - 2018

Updated

The following list shows the most recent changes implemented in Frotcom:

2018-12-13

Activity update notifications on Tasks: You can now set up notifications to alert the fleet managers when new steps in the workflow are reached (Started, Moving to the destination, Arrived at destination, etc.), in the Tasks being executed.

These notifications can be sent to emails and mobile phones:

admin_jobs.PNG

To configure these notifications, you must go to Administration > Account - Jobs and choose all the tasks types that will be notified to the emails and mobile phones in the list.

2018-11-22

Detailed Workforce management tasks report: When you generate a new Workforce management task report, you have now the option to chose whether or not to view it with the detailed data from all the tasks:

wfm_report.PNG

The detailed format of the report contains all the activities for all the tasks (including interruptions), as well as totals and average times:

wfm_detailed_report.PNG

The default format remains untouched, so you can have both views of the tasks.

2018-11-05

HIGHLIGHT - Auxiliary IDs

Benefits for the user:

With the addition of the Auxiliary IDs functionality to Frotcom, you will have the possibility to configure the RFID or iButton readers of your fleet to have behaviors other than merely the identification of the drivers.

In this first release, the Auxiliary IDs can be configured to allow drivers to associate Routes to the vehicles without the need to contact the fleet manager - the only action to do is to read an ID that represents a Route:

admin_aux_id.PNG

Technical description:

To learn how to configure, use and manage the Auxiliary IDs, please check this article.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Show corridor detection events in Alarms:

The corridor detection events (Corridor exit detection started and Corridor exit detection ended) are shown in the Alarms view although they are not, in fact, alarms situations - but merely a notification that the corridor exit control has started or ended.

You can now choose whether or not to see these events in the Alarms view:

alarms_filtering.PNG

In Administration > Users - Details - Filtering, in the Alarms filtering section, you can now see the events in the list of Filter. If not selected, these events will be hidden from the view.

Minimum corridor width (Account settings): Following a previous change that allows you to configure corridors with a minimum width of 10 meters (0.01km, or 0.007mi), you can now also use this setting in Administration > Account - Route, to set the default corridor width:

minimum_width.PNG

2018-08-31

Refueling and drainage icons on the map: You can now see icons for the events of refueling and fuel drainage on the map (similar to what was available in the old Silverlight version of Frotcom):

refueling.png

To be able to see these events, enable the option Show refueling/drainage events on the Map settings:

map_settings.PNG

If you want to check what each icon on the map stands for, check the Map legend.

2018-08-10

Circular diagram and Extendable linear diagram views of Assigned routes: If you have two or more vehicles executing the same route template, you can now use these two new views, the Circular diagram and the Extendable linear diagram view, to track their positions on the Assigned routes tab:

circular_diagram.PNG

extendable_linear_diagram.PNG

You can get more details about these views on this article.

Select start and end steps on Route templates: When you add a Route template to a Route group you have now the option to choose which of the steps of the template will be assigned as the start and end steps:

start_end_step_group.png

The same is applied to when you assign a route template to a vehicle - you can choose the start and end steps for this execution:

start_end_step_assign.png

Minor and major time gap to the vehicle in front: On Administration > Account, Route - Color codes you can configure two more settings: the Minor and Major time gap to the vehicle in front:

color_codes.PNG

When two vehicles are executing the same route, if the distance - in minutes - to the vehicle in front falls outside this gap, the distance will be represented in red in the Compressed linear view and the Route daily frequency report.

Place labels: You can set up labels for each of your places with quick notes/reminders to be presented in the place marker on the Map view:

place_labels_map.png

To configure this label, go to Administration > Areas - Edit and fill the field Label:

place_labels_config.PNG

Minimum corridor width: As of now, you can set up corridors with a minimum width of 10 meters (0.01km, or 0.007mi):

minimum_corridor_width.PNG

Drivers diary report: The new Drivers diary report was developed to show details about the driving/rest periods of vehicles or drivers:

driver_diary.PNG

This report can be generated for up to 1 month, and the user can choose the drivers to be listed. Also, the report can be generated in an authorities format, separating each vehicle/driver per page (i.e., one header, body and footer for each driver, per page).

An important note, however, is that for vehicles with the one-minute rule activated, the information regarding the addresses is currently not available, but it is expected to be implemented soon.

2018-07-19

Automatic coupling/uncoupling based on GPS position: If your company has assets with GPS tracking, you may want to configure automatic operations of coupling and uncoupling of these assets to vehicles based on their global position:

driving_conditions_coupling.PNG

To find out how to configure and use the automatic coupling and uncoupling option, please refer to this article.

Extended trips report (Authorities format) - Export to Excel: Now you can generate an Excel file with the data of an Extended trips report in the Authorities format:

extended_trips_report.PNG

As it's done with other reports, simply click on Export to Excel on the top corner of the generated report.

Vehicle infobox - full date: On the Vehicle infobox (and on other boxes available on the map view), when the selected period is either Today or Yesterday, you will see both the informative string and the actual date:

infobox.PNG

2018-06-29

Detailed costs report - grouping option: a new option was added to the report for you to choose whether the data will be grouped by the Cost type or not:

detailed_costs_report.png

The default value for this option is Yes. If you want to generate the report without the grouping option, uncheck this selector.

2018-06-08

Settings and Customized score for Driving behavior: A set of new configurations were added for you to customize the way the Driving behavior is calculated for your company:

driving_behavior_settings.PNG

You can find all the details about this configuration panel in this article.

2018-04-27

Map filter based on route status: Added the option on the Map settings for you to filter and show on the map only the vehicles that currently have a route with status Active:

map_settings_filter.PNG

Additionally to this feature, you can also choose to see the active routes blinking on the map. To do so, go to the General tab of the Map settings and select Show active route path on the map.

Working period and permitted driving periods with two timeslots: Your company might have different shifts for working periods or permitted driving periods. If this is the case, you have now the possibility to add one extra time slot to define these periods:

additional_period.PNG

Associate a CRM client when creating or editing a place: The association between places and CRM clients has not been a simple process in Frotcom. This feature improves this association, by making it easier for users, when creating or editing a place, to add a CRM client with an address:

areas_add_crm_client.PNG

Interacting with drivers through email: Some companies need to exchange email messages with their drivers. To do that, you have now the option to send/receive email messages with Interact:

interact_send_email.PNG

You can read more about this functionality on this article.

Map settings - Vehicles: more options available: Improve the list of options available to be selected on Map settings - Vehicles to be later shown on the Vehicle list, Vehicle marker, and Vehicle infobox:

map_settings_more_options.gif

These new options are the same available in the Vehicle infobox > Other information, respecting the selected period for the vehicle list.

Show vehicle infobox after clicking on the vehicle marker: As of now, when you click on a vehicle marker on the map, its vehicle infobox will be triggered, even if it was collapsed before:

hide_show_infobox.gif

Directions when rearranging the path keep the user zoom level: With this small adjustment, if you have a zoom level set and rearrange a path to a specific waypoint, the zoom level will be kept.

2018-04-06

Grouping options in the Vehicle list: With this new feature you can change the grouping option for your Vehicle list to group the vehicles not only by the vehicle type but by other group types:

grouping_vehicle.png

Click here for more information regarding the grouping options.

Detailed tracking of Speed: With a more detailed tracking of the Speed value, Frotcom can now display more accurate information in the Speed graph, as well as all alarms that use speed as a parameter.

  • Speed graph: you can now see the evolution of the speed every 2 seconds:
    image2018-1-29_14-42-58.png
In the example above, in light blue is the old line and in dark blue is the new accurate data.
  • Speed alarm: the speed considered to trigger the alarm will be the maximum in the period. For instance, if in a 1 minute period there are 30 measurements of speed (separated by 2 seconds), the alarms will only analyse the maximum speed of those 30 measurements.

Note: The two seconds tracking is available for the following devices:
Mobile devices C4Max, C4MaxLite, C4Evo e C4OBD2: F0.11.6
Queclink GV300: F0.1.1

Places automation rules: If your company needs to control the visits to places under certain conditions (visiting hours, visiting frequency, visiting vehicles, etc.) and automatically update place statuses, you can use the new automation rules for Places:

new_rule_option.PNG

Click here to learn more about the rules.

Show totals for the period in the Tachograph graph: You can now see the totals of driving, working, available and resting states for the selected period in the Tachograph graph:

tachograph_graph.PNG

Just click on the Hamburger menu of the graph and select See totals.

Send route directions to WFM and NAV devices: Prior to this release, it was possible to send route directions to either Workforce Management or NAV devices depending on the account permission, not both. As of now, accounts with both devices will be able to send the routes to the drivers:

assign_route.PNG

You can also define on Administration > Accounts > Route how the information should be sent to the terminals (Send destinations only or Enforce path).

Additionally, you don't need to associate a route to a job before sending it to a Workforce Management terminal anymore - A new task is automatically created on Frotcom when you send a route to the device.

Tachograph information in the Vehicles details: you can now insert information about the vehicle's tachograph in the Vehicle details:

vehicle_detail_tacho.PNG

The new fields are available on the Tachograph tab of the vehicle details.

2018-03-16

Clone route groups and templates: Eventually, you will need to make small adjustments to existing route groups or route templates, keeping the original one unchanged (for instance, summer schedule, winter scheduler, and so on).

This new feature lets you clone a route group or route template, copying all the information from the existing route into a new one:

clone_route.PNG

Odometer value on Management > Costs: When you add a new cost on Management > Costs, and after entering the date and the vehicle for this costs, Frotcom will suggest an Odometer value for the costs based on the mileage of the vehicle at that time:

management_cost_odometer.PNG

If you don't agree with the suggestion, you can still edit the value at will, and it will be shown in a new column on the Costs list.

Show temperature ranges on Graphs: You can now choose a range for the temperature to be highlighted on the graphs:

temperature_graph.png

On the selector on the top-right corner, you can select to see the Automatic ranges associated to alarms assigned to this temperature sensor, a Manual range available for your account or No range, to keep the graph without any extra information.

Additionally, on analog graphs such as Vehicle speed, Temperature, Fuel level, Engine Speed or Engine Temperature, users can now quickly identify the maximum, and the minimum values occurred in the period clicking on the More option.

Alarm for late route arrival: When you configure alarms for a route, you have now the option to be alerted immediately when the vehicle is late for the departure/arrival:

alarm_late_route_arrival.PNG

You just need to select ALERT IMMEDIATELY for the respective alarm, and instead of receiving the alert when the vehicle departs/arrives, you will get notified at the exact moment when Frotcom detects it is late for the activity.

Avoid ferries on routes: Added a new option for you to choose whether or not to avoid ferries on routes - if it is possible to do so:

avoid_ferries.PNG

Subsistence allowance report - Add the mileage in each area: In this report, regardless of the choice of traffic, you will see the mileage information in each area travelled:

subsistence_report.PNG

Places created on WFM: Drivers can now submit a new place location using the Workforce Management app. On Frotcom, you can check these submitted places and by editing and making the necessary adaptations, include them as a new Frotcom place type, or delete them:

submitted_places.PNG

Driver to driver communication: With this new functionality, drivers can exchange messages with not only the office but as well with other drivers also using the Workforce Management. On Interact, you can select to view the messages exchanged between the drivers:

HIGHLIGHT - Coupling vehicles and assets

Benefits for the user:

Frotcom allows you to control different types of vehicles in which a GPS tracker has been installed. Some other assets, such as trailers or containers without an installed GPS tracker, can be coupled and uncoupled to these vehicles.

With this new feature, you can now establish this connection between vehicle and assets, and by doing so, you will know where the assets were picked up, which trips they made and where they were left, every time.

context_menu_couple.PNG

Technical description:

For all the information regarding coupling/uncoupling vehicles and assets, you can check this article.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Auditing automatic reports: You can now see, in the automatic report configuration panel, information regarding who created and last updated the report, as well as when it was created, updated and last generated.

automatic_reports_creation.PNG

When you view an automatic report's configuration panel, you can see the user and creation date of the automatic report. If the configuration was updated, you could also see the user and date of the last update. Finally, if the report was already generated at least once, you can see the date of the previous report generated.

Interact - Frequent messages: This new feature allows you to store frequent messages and later insert one or several of these frequent messages into a conversation on Interact, in a straightforward way, speeding up the time to write messages. It will work like the clipboard, but using shortcuts to insert several previously saved frequent messages.

frequent_messages_sending.gif

For more information about how to configure and use this feature, please check this article.

Interact - Add user signature: Users can now configure a small signature to append to their messages on Interact, so the recipient driver can see who sent the message.

interact_sign.PNG

To set your signature, you must go to User Preferences > Interact and configure the Signature section.

Undefined option for Department and Segment selectors: For all the Department and Segments selectors in Frotcom a new option was added: Undefined.

undefined_department_segment.PNG

With this option, you can refine your selection to include (or not) information that does not have any department/segment associated with it.

Note: If your filters already have the option All selected, the new Undefined option will be automatically selected.

Map view of Events: In the Events page, an option was added to see the location where the event was triggered, on a map view at the bottom of the page.
With just one click on the list of events, a map is shown at the bottom of the page pointing to the location of the event.

map_events.PNG

New Tachograph driver card expiry date field: On Administration > Driver - Details, a new field was added to give the user a fast way to distinguish which drivers have their driver card expired (or about to expire), so they can be renewed on time.

admin_drivers_tacho.PNG

Also, a new alarm was added for the user to watch when a driver card should be renewed.
To configure this alarm, you must go to Administration > Tachograph > Options and select the two new flags available: Send driver card expiry date alert when and Check driver card expiry date for the drivers:

tacho_admin.PNG

Tachograph remote download - alert when failed to download a file: You can now configure a popup window to be shown after the login to warn you if Frotcom detects any failure of remote download of a tachograph file.

tacho_alert.PNG

To choose whether to see this popup or not, you can go to Administration > Tachograph > Options and select Show failed download alert after login.

MINOR IMPROVEMENTS

  • Removed the column Speeding occurrence from the Driving behavior report;
  • Improved information about speed and temperature on the Alarms report;
  • Uniformization of Edit buttons;
  • Improved Google street view to show only street photos;
  • Widen Route name column on the Routes list;
  • Announcement feature compatible with smartphones.

2018-02-02

HIGHLIGHT - Improvements on reports with more CANBus information.

Benefits for the user:

Both Driving behavior report and CANBus details report were improved with a new set of parameters and more precision from the existing CANBus devices data.

With these new parameters, Frotcom gives you more accurate information about the vehicle's usage:

driving_behaviour_graphs.PNG

Technical description:

The Driving behavior report now shows the following information as graphs:

  • Histogram of speed
  • Histogram of accelerator pedal positions
  • RPM intervals (idling, transition, RPM efficiency, RPM inefficiency)
  • RPM coasting statuses (coasting, ecoroll, braking)

Also, two new columns are available in this report:

  • Number of brake strokes/100km
  • Consumed fuel idling / Total fuel consumed (%)

To show this new information, you must select Show CANBus detailed information (when available) when generating the report. If you choose Yes, a new selector allows you to see this information individually or compared with the company average:

driving_behaviour_graphs_compared.PNG

For the CANBus details report, some information is now calculated in a more precise way. The columns with the recalculated information are the following:

  • % of time with high torque
  • % of time with high speed
  • % of time with high acceleration

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Optimized user experience while rearranging paths: To improve your experience, Frotcom has improved the way you can rearrange calculated paths for your vehicles.

Now, similar to what happens with other map engines (like Google maps and Here maps) you can just drag a path to a point to have a preview on how it will be like, even before you release the button and the path is calculated. This way you can make sure the path is precise with your needs in a more comfortable and faster way.

recalculate_route.gif

Process selected alarms: Added an option to choose a set of alarms to be processed from the list:

process_selected_alarms.PNG

You can select the alarms you want to process using the checkboxes on the left and then select Process selected alarms from the Hamburger menu of the panel.

Detecting malfunctions on fuel level sensors: If you have a Fuel level alarm configured, you will now be noticed when Frotcom detects a malfunction on the sensor (e.g. the sensor is damaged or disconnected).

When this situation is detected, the following alarm will go off:

image2018-1-2_14-0-38.png

2018-01-12

HIGHLIGHT - Compliance with REGULATION (EC) n.º 561/2006

Benefits for the user:

To keep compliance with the European regulation and to give the fleet managers a way to review these data, Frotcom displays now two more information about the driving times:

  • Regular and reduced daily rest period;
  • The number of reduced daily rest periods in a week.

This information is available on the Vehicle Infobox - Driving times:

infobox_driving_time.PNG

Technical description:

You can choose to see the driving times based on the Regular daily rest period or Reduced daily rest period by clicking on the Options icon of the Driving times panel in the infobox:

infobox_driving_times_options.gif

The two new views added to the existent Elapsed driving time and Remaining driving time are:

  • Regular daily rest period is any period of rest of at least 11 hours;
  • Reduced daily rest period is any period of rest of at least 9 hours and less than 11 hours.

The information you see on the title bar of the section is the time when the regular/reduced daily rest period is reached and how long to reach it, taking into consideration the Minimum reduced daily rest time on Administration > Account > Driving conditions.

The information about the number of reduced daily rest periods between any two weekly rest periods is presented as three marks in the same panel:

infobox_driving_time_number_of_periods.PNG

In the case above, for instance, the driver has already spent two out of three reduced daily rest periods this week.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Zoom on Graphs: Now you can zoom your Graphs to dig and review the information of your fleet in a better way.

Using the grey bar on top of the Graphs view, or inside any of the graphs, you can drag and drop a line in which you want to have the zoom in for all the charts:

zoom_graph.gif

Clicking again on the grey area of the bar zooms out the graphs to the default view.

Note: be sure to drag the line precisely on the grey bar or a graph area - pulling outside this limits will lead the browser only to select the text instead of zooming in.

Changes on the Vehicles usage report: added a new parameter to hide/show the column Privacy mode from the report:

vehicles_usage_report_config.PNG

Additionally, some columns were renamed for a better understanding of the content.

A new view of the CANBus - Driver work states report: added a new parameter to choose to see the report with the current view or with the new Monthly view:

canbus_report_monthly_view_option.PNG

With the Monthly view option selected, the generated report will be changed to show the information as months, with the opportunity to export the data to an Excel file.
