Administration > Vehicles > Immobilizer

The immobilizer allows you to remotely inhibit the restarting of a Frotcom equipped vehicle. The immobilizer is a basic circuit composed by a relay, controlled by an output in the Frotcom device which works like a switch in the ignition circuit of the vehicle.

When a special message command is received in the device, it will open the relay circuit and the ignition of the vehicle will shut OFF. This will inhibit the vehicle to start working again after the ignition is turned OFF.

In other words, once the ignition is turned OFF by the driver, he/she will not be able to start the engine again by turning the ignition ON.

Only after receiving another special message command authorizing the departure of the vehicle, will the starter circuit work again.

What to consider before sending a command to activate or deactivate the immobilizer?

You have four ways to immobilize a vehicle, using the immobilizer accessory:

  1. sending an SMS to Frotcom's device
  2. using Frotcom's web interface
  3. using Frotcom APP for smartphones
  4. using Automatic Driver Identification
