Administration > Drivers > Immobilizer controlled by Driver ID

Frotcom allows you to have an immobilizer in the vehicle, reactive to the automatic driver identification. The immobilizer automatically unlocks the vehicle when a driver identification is obtained. Otherwise, the vehicle's engine will not start.

With this feature, it is possible to have the immobilizer automatically blocking the vehicle every time the ignition is switched OFF. After, to unlock the vehicle and allow it to start, the driver has to use the driver ID (RDIF or iButton).

It is also possible to unlock the vehicle remotely via Frotcom's interface or Frotcom's app on a smartphone. If you do so, note that the vehicle will stay unblocked by a predefined amount of time (2 minutes by default), so the driver has time to start the vehicle in that period. After that, if the ignition is switched OFF again, the immobilizer will once more block the vehicle automatically.

If you need to limit the drivers allowed to drive special vehicles, such as the ones that transport dangerous goods, heavy vehicles/machinery or vehicles that require an expert driver, preventing other company drivers from using those vehicles, Whitelists are what you are looking for.
