This article comprises the Tachograph information regarding Drivers Tachograph Data. The Drivers section has the following panel, and the following available information:
| Column | Description |
| Driver Name | Name of the driver |
| Status | Driver's status |
| Tachograph Driver Number |
Driver card number as entered by you in Administration > Driver > Driving License. NOTE: Drivers without a valid driver card number will not be listed; Frotcom will not be able to proceed with the corresponding file downloads. |
| Periodicity |
This is the period according to which Frotcom will attempt to extract the driver card from the tachograph where it is inserted. The default period is Never. The default periodicity option can be changed as described in Administration > Tachograph > Options. NOTE: Driver card data must be collected in a period no longer than 21 days after it has been generated. To account for any possible communication problems with the vehicle, Frotcom's maximum periodicity for the driver card data has been set to 18 days. |
| Last file download | Date and time of the last successfully downloaded driver card file. |
| Next download |
Date on which the next download is planned, according to the periodicity applicable. Between parentheses, the number of days from today until the next download is indicated. NOTE: This field will be shown on a red background if this operation is already delayed, i.e. if the number of days from today to the next download is negative. |
| Last error occurrence | If an error occurred when trying to extract a driver card file. |
In order to define the periodicity of the drivers' tachograph data download, follow the following steps:
- Tick the box of the line of the desired driver;
- Click on the Set Periodicity button on the top right part of the panel:
![]()
After that, the next board will be available:
On the Periodicity drop down menu you will be able to define the automatic download periodicity from the following options:
| Periodicity | Description |
| Every 18 days |
Frotcom will download the driver card's data files from the selected drivers, every 18 days. NOTE: Driver card data must be colleced in a period no longer than 21 days after it has been generated. |
| Every 7 days |
Frotcom will download the tachograph data files from the selected vehicles, every 7 days. NOTE: Driver card data must be colleced in a period no longer than 21 days after it has been generated. |
| Set a weekday |
If you select this option, you must as well provide a Weekday for the download. Frotcom will download the driver card's data files from the selected vehicles weekly on the selected weekday. |
| Every day* |
Frotcom will download the tachograph data files from the selected drivers, every day. NOTE: Activating this option will represent an extra monthly fee per vehicle. Contact your Frotcom Certified Partner for more information. |
| Never |
In this case you instruct Frotcom not to proceed with the automatic downloading of the tachograph data files. NOTE: Driver card data must be colleced in a period no longer than 21 days after it has been generated. |
After selection of the desired Periodicity click on the Apply button so that Frotcom saves your preferences. In case you do not define a periodicity value, Frotcom will consider never by default.
*The option Every day will only be available after the permission is given by your Frotcom Certified Partner. You need to define with your FCP the maximum number of drivers that can be selected for downloading files every day.
To activate the Every Day option, you need to perform the following steps.
1. Select the drivers:
2. Select the option Every day:
Please note that you'll be presented with the selected and the remaining drivers that can be selected with the option Every day.
After clicking on the Apply button, you'll see the following message:
If you click Yes, the option Every day will remain selected.
If you click No, the previous selection will remain unchanged (Never, Every 7 days, Every 18 days, Set a weekday).
The number of available drivers for daily download already considers the number of drivers selected for configuration. So, if the maximum set for your account is 20, you have already configured 11 drivers for downloads every day, and now you are configuring another 2, this is the information you will see:
If you select more drivers than the available ones, you will see a negative number and the button Apply is inactive. In the example, but selecting 14 drivers to add to the 11 already configured, it would result in 25 drivers with download every day, but you only have permission to set it for 20:
If you try to configure more drivers than the maximum number allowed you’ll see the following message:
In order to Reset the Download Date, do the following steps:
- Tick the box of the line of the desired driver;
- Click on the Reset Download Date button on the top right part of the panel:
![]()
After that you will have available the following board:
On the New Download Date drop down menu you will be able to define when you want to reset the download date:
| Date | Description |
| Now | Reset NOW the new download date |
| Calendar date | Schedule the new download date for a specific calendar date |
After selection of the desired New Download Date click on the Apply button so that Frotcom saves your preferences.
You may as well add a higher download priority to any Driver.
To do so, click select any vehicles from the list using the checkboxes next to the Driver's name, and then click on Set priority.
An icon will be placed next to the Driver's name, and the following message will be displayed:
To remove a priority, select the Driver and click on Set priority again.
You must confirm the action in the popup:
Files high higher download priority will be downloaded before the other files. Up to 25 attempts will be executed, and if they are not successful, the priority will be removed.
If you wish to download driver card files and circulate them via e-mail, click here.
Note1: if Frotcom tries to download a driver card file and cannot, retries will be automatically produced, as follows: 10 retries separated by one hour; then 30 more retries separated by one day.
If Frotcom is still unable to download the files, it will give up, for that specific driver. An alert will be issued and sent by email to the address specified in the Administration > Tachographs > Options folder so you can take action.
Simultaneously and for security reasons, Frotcom will deactivate the automatic download, described in this section, by setting it as “Never”. After inspecting the situation for possible explanations (for instance, maybe the driver is simply not active in the period or his/her driver card has not been used by tachographs with Remote Download capabilities) the person in your company responsible for the management of the tachographs must reactivate the corresponding driver card file download period back to Every 18 days.
Note2: If Frotcom detects that this is the first time this option is activated for this driver, once you click Save, the following dialog will show: “Frotcom has not downloaded driver card files from this driver before. Do you want to download now? [Yes, download now | No, download only 18 days from now].”
Note 3: If Frotcom detects that the number of drivers with active download schedules (different than “Never”) is higher than 150% of the number of vehicles equipped with the Remote Download feature, then Frotcom will give the following warning and you will not be able to save: “Too many drivers with remote download configured, already. Please contact Frotcom. [Close]”.
