CANBus details

Updated

The CANBus details report shows, for a period and for a vehicle or selection of vehicles, the sum or the average values of the CANBus data associated to the trips in that period.

Configuration

To generate the report, you must configure the following inputs:

Configuration Description
Period

The period the report will be generated for. Options:

  • This month
  • Last month
  • Last 30 days
  • This week
  • Last week
  • Last 7 days
  • Today (Default)
  • Yesterday
  • Other (Maximum 30 days). If you select this option, you may also choose the hour of the first and last day of the period (minutes cannot be selected):

Show information by

Here you must choose the the source of the information. It can be:

  • Vehicles
  • Drivers
  • Driver statuses
  • Teams

Once you select one source, you must select which components will be used to filter the report. For instance, if I want my report to be generated for some vehicles of my fleet, I first select Vehicles and then choose their License plates in the next selector:

This selection slightly changes the output of the report.

Output

This report may have two outputs, depending on the selection of Show information by in the Configuration of the report.

If the selection is Vehicles, the first column of the report will contain the License Plate of the vehicle; while if the selection is Drivers, Driver statuses or Teams, the first column will contain the Driver name:

Both formats have the following information:

Information Description
Vehicle License plate of the vehicle
Driver Driver associated with the vehicle
Distance covered Representes the distance covered by the vehicle in the period, reported by CANBus (Odometer).
Energy consumption  The Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumption consumed by the vehicle in the period, reported by CANBus.
Engine hours Representes the number of hours the engine was running in the period, reported by CANBus.
Idling

The time the vehicle has spent in Idling.

When presenting this time, the seconds are ignored. Eg.: if time is 00:02:59, the presented value will be 00:02.

Energy consumption idling The Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumed by the vehicle in the period, reported by CANBus, while Idling.

To be able to calculate fuel consumption in Idle, the CANBus needs to send fuel consumption with high resolution (resolution of 0.001). If CANBus sends only normal resolution value (resolution of 0.5 liters) then no calculation is presented, because the lack of precision would result in completely wrong values. In this case, N/A would be presented in the column.
Average consumption

Representes the average Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumption of the vehicle in the period relative to the distance, reported by CANBus.

The value starts to be calculated in liters/100kms using the calculated distance covered and energy consumption: Average consumption = Energy consumption / Distance covered x 100.

Value is then converted in case the company uses other units.

Average consumption per hour

Representes the average Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumption per hour of the vehicle in the period, reported by CANBus.

The value starts to be calculated in liters/hour using the calculated Engine hours and fuel consumption: Average consumption = Fuel consumption / Engine Hours.

Value is then converted in case the company uses other units.

Energy cost

It's the cost of the Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumed by the vehicle in the period.

The value is calculated using the previously calculated Fuel or Energy or Natural gas consumption and multiplying by the value of Fuel Cost defined by the company in Administration > Account > CANBus > Average fuel cost per liter.

Max engine speed RPM

The maximum engine RPM reported by CANBus in the period.

Max engine temperature

The maximum engine temperature reported by CANBus in the period.

Tacho: Number of infractions of Driver (1 and 2)

Represents the number of times, for each driver, that the tachograph reported infractions. An infraction is a change of the Time Relative State to 2 (4.5h reached), 4 (9h reached) or 6 (16h reached), as long as it did not change from 15 (Not available).

% of time with high speed

The percentage of time the vehicle was traveling above 100km/h in the period.

% of time with high RPM

The percentage of time the vehicle engine was above 1500RPM in the period.

% of time with high acceleration

The percentage of time the accelerator pedal position was above 95% in the period.

Start report period odometer

Represents the CANBus odometer at the beginning of the period.

End report period odometer

Represents the CANBus odometer at the end of the period.

The report will grouped vehicles by their vehicle energy, and use the correct units and totals.
