Administration > Vehicles > Immobilizer - How to activate/deactivate the immobilizer via web interface?

Before performing any action related to activation/deactivation of the immobilizer, read carefully the considerations that you must take into account.

Let's consider the example of the following vehicle:

To immobilize the vehicle, go to Administration > Vehicle and select the Immobilizer option from the left tab:

and you will see the following screen:

To activate the immobilizer (open the relay circuit), click on Activate button:

and the following confirmation panel will pop up:

Please note that you are about to send a command to activate the immobilizer in the selected vehicle. Be aware that the immobilization of a vehicle should only be done when you are 100% sure not to cause any damages with you action. Frotcom is not responsible for any damages that may come from your immobilization of a vehicle. Be also aware that if the device receives a command to activate the immobilizer and then enters a zone without GSM/GPRS coverage, it will be impossible to deactivate the immobilizer through GSM/GPRS, and therefore the vehicle may need direct intervention by a technician before being able to restart the engine.

To confirm your action, enter the code and click on Send button and the following confirmation will pop up:

For more information about the code, please contact your Frotcom Certified Partner.

On the other hand, if at any time you wish to cancel your modifications and go to the previous screen, click on the Cancel button.

If you confirmed the activation of the immobilizer, you will see that the lower sub-panel of the Administration > Vehicle > Immobilizer will be updated accordingly. This sub-panel is no more than a log record of the change of status of the immobilizer:

In order to refresh this table's information, click on the Refresh button, located in the upper right part of the sub-panel:

This table contains the following information:

Column Description
Timestamp Day and time of the immobilizer's status change.
Command Command sent to the vehicle's tracking device.
Sent by Identification of the user who sent the command to the tracking device.
Response Answer provided by the tracking device as confirmation that the command was received.

Looking now to the map again, to the same vehicle as the one in the previous example:

You will see on the search infobox that the vehicle is immobilized, by the means of the thunder icon (indicated by the orange circle) located at the right part of the respective row of the vehicle.

The very same indication is also provided on the vehicle's identification icon, directly on the map view:

If you wish to deactivate the immobilizer, go to the Administration > Vehicle > Immobilizer panel and click on the Deactivate button:

The very same confirmation screen as before, will appear:

Fill in the Code field as before with the same code and press Send. The following confirmation will pop up:

And, the lop panel will also be updated accordingly:

Please note that whenever the vehicle is immobilized, the Command and Response columns are filled in red letters. Oppositely, whenever the vehicle is no longer immobilized, the the Command and Response columns are filled in green letters.

Additionally, on the Administration > Vehicle > Immobilizer panel you also have the option to automatically enable the immobilizer outside of the permitted working periods defined in Administration > Vehicle > Permitted driving period.

Please note that by enabling the automation of the immobilizer, you will automatically immobilize the selected vehicle outside of the permitted working periods. Be aware that the immobilization of a vehicle should only be done when you are 100% not to cause any damages with your action.

For that, change the field Automation option to Yes:

And the following panel will pop up:

To confirm your action, enter the code and click on Send button and the following confirmation will pop up:

For more information about the code, please contact your Frotcom Certified Partner.

On the other hand, if at any time you wish to cancel your modifications and go to the previous screen, click on the Cancel button.

If at any time you want to cancel the Automatic immobilization field, simply select No on the Automation option field and the very same confirmation window, similar to the one when you activated the automation field, will be available. Fill in the very same code that you used to activate it.
