In order to create a vehicle filter, go to Administration > Filters panel and click the Add new button, located on the upper right corner of the panel:
The following panel will be displayed:
Select the Click to add blue link in order to create an identification tag for the vehicle's filter:
After that, click on the Save button, located in the upper right part of the panel:
A confirmation will pop up
and several subsections become available for edition:
Besides the General subsection (which was already discussed), you have now available the following subsections:
- Vehicle
- Driver
- Team
- Manufacturer
- Engine
- Model
- Year
- Vehicle class
- Vehicle type
- Free field 1
- Free field 2
- Free field 3
- Free field 4
- Free field 5
By defining restrictions on more than one subsection for the same filter, the vehicles shown on the map and elsewhere in Frotcom, when the filter is applied, will be the product of all the defined restrictions. E.g. if you define for the filter, only trucks and only drivers John and Mario, the result is that only trucks being driven by John or Mario will be displayed.
You should be pragmatic and consider carefully the filtering options when creating a filter so that the outcome is exactly what you expect.
Let's look at each subsection now.
Vehicle
Under the vehicle's subsection, you can find the following panel:
On this panel you can select the vehicles you want to see when the filter is applied. For that, simply tick the selection box of the desired vehicle. If you want to select all the vehicles, simply tick the selection box on the top, next to License plate; all the license plates will automatically be ticked.
If you select at least one of the vehicles from the list, the Vehicle bar from the left part of the panel will change:
No vehicles selected | At least one vehicle selected |
The very same modification is valid for all the remaining tabs.
Please take into consideration that if you select ALL the vehicles under the vehicle subsection, that has the same meaning as filtering none, since when you select ALL the vehicles, you are activating a filter but accepting all the existing vehicles. Which is similar to not filter any vehicle and show all anyway.
