Updated

The Management section contains two subsections of settings.

The first section is Costs:

In this section, the following settings are used:

Setting Description
Cost per km (or cost per mile)

Specify here the average cost, for this vehicle, per km (or per mile, depending on your account settings).

This field is then used by Frotcom in some reports to calculate the total cost of the trips and can also be used as a reference value for comparison with the one automatically calculated in the cost management module.

Cost per hour

Specify here the average cost, for this vehicle, per hour.

This field is then used by Frotcom in some reports to calculate the cost per hour of the trips and can also be used as a reference value for comparison with the one automatically calculated in the cost management module.

The second section is Fuel:

In this section, the following settings are used:

Setting Description
Fuel consumption per mileage

Specify here the average fuel consumption, for this vehicle, per 100km (or other measuring methods, according to your account specifications).

It is then used by Frotcom in some reports to calculate the total fuel consumption of the trips and can also be used as a reference value for comparison with the consumption automatically calculated in the cost management module.

Fuel consumption per hour

Specify here the average fuel consumption, for this vehicle, per hour (useful mostly in the case of construction machinery and other assets for which fuel consumption is not associated to traveling but rather local work).

It is then used by Frotcom in some reports to calculate the total fuel consumption per hour for the trips (or periods for which the engine is running) and can also be used as a reference value for comparison with the consumption per hour automatically calculated in the cost management module.

Fuel tank capacity The total capacity of the vehicle’s fuel tank.
Fuel consumption

Select which data Frotcom will use as the Fuel consumption value:

  • Use CANBus total fuel used
If the vehicle is equipped with CANBus, Frotcom will retrieve the fuel consumption value from it.
  • Use fixed fuel consumption
Uses the value of the field Fuel consumption per mileage. If it's undefined, uses the value of Fuel consumption per hour instead.

Also, if the vehicle is equipped with CANBus, a few more options are displayed in the section:

Setting Description
Activate fuel management

Option required for the vehicle to be included in the fuel management routines.

Can only be selected if the vehicle is equipped with fuel level sensors (CANBus or OBD).

Minimum increase in fuel level for automatic refueling detection

The minimum percentage variation of the fuel level, in relation to the Fuel tank capacity, to be detected as a refueling event.

Values below 20% are not recommended.

Minimum negative variation in fuel level for automatic drainage detection

The minimum percentage variation of the fuel level, in relation to the Fuel tank capacity, to be detected as a drainage event.

Values below 20% are not recommended.

Fuel level sources Select which fuel level sources will be used to calculate the total fuel level of the vehicle.
Fuel tank capacity via CANBus

This option is used to convert to liters the fuel level in the tank, which is given by the CANBus in percentage.

If this option is left empty, will use the same value of the Fuel tank capacity option.
