Start by entering the General parameters of the place. Then, you will specify how that place will show on the Map.

General

The general parameters are the following:

  • Geometry
Choose Circle or Polygon. Circular places are defined by their center and a radius. Polygonal places are represented by a series of vertices. You will be able to specify later on where the place is to be located and its size/shape.
  • Place designation
Click to add a designation to this place
  • Place type
Choose one of the place types available by default in Frotcom, or create additional place types, in the Place settings menu.

  • Department
Enter the department to which this place belongs, if any. Departments are defined in Administration > Organization.
  • Segment
Enter the segment to which this place belongs, if any. Segments are defined in Administration > Organization.
  • Place number
Click if you want to assign a number to this place. It will be used for your reference only.
  • Place status
Select to assign a specific status to this place. Frotcom will be able to show that place on the map with a different color, depending on its status (not yet implemented in the current Frotcom release). You can define the list of possible place statuses and their corresponding colors and names in the Place settings menu.
  • Add CRM client
You can create or use an already created CRM client and associate it with this new place.

Once you have entered the general parameters above, click button Next:

Or click the Map row on the left. You will now be able to enter the exact location and shape of the place.

If you defined in the General parameters that the place will be a Circle, then you will now be able to draw that circle. If on the other hand, you defined that the place will be a Polygon, you will now be able to draw that polygon.

On the right side of the map you will see which shape is currently selected:

Before you draw the place, zoom and drag the map until you see the area where the place will be put.

Once you have done that, click the Circle or Polygon button (the one that applies in your case).

To create a circular place:

After you click the button, you will be asked to click on the exact location where the center of the place will be; and then drag to define the radius.

If you want to edit the circle you just created, click the edit button:

You will be able to change both the center and radius of the circle.

If on the other hand, you want to remove the circle you are creating, click the trash button

And then click on the circle to remove it. To confirm, click Apply. To keep the circle and not delete it, click Cancel.

In the end, remember to click the Save button on the top right, to store all the Place's parameters.

To create a polygonal place:

After you click the button, you will be asked to click on the exact location of each vertex of the polygon. To close the shape, click the initial vertex again or click the Finish option.

If you want to edit the polygon you just created, click the edit button:

You will be able to drag and drop each vertex of the original polygon. You can also remove vertices by clicking on them (without dragging).

And then click on the polygon to remove it. To confirm, click Apply. To keep the polygon and not delete it, click Cancel.

In the end, remember to click the Save button on the top right, to store all the Place's parameters.
