Toolbar

The toolbar contains several controls to filter the information displayed in the views and to set reporting options. Outliers are selectable by type, using the type selection control:

Each option represents a classification criterion by which trips were considered outliers. For instance by selecting the Distance (km) option, Frotcom Analytics will display only the trips that were considered outliers using distance as a criterion; in other words, a vehicle which travelled between two spots reporting significant more or less mileage than was expected.

Please note that a trip may be classified as an outlier in multiple criteria. The numbers to the left of the option names represent, in light grey, the number of filtered trips, and in blue the total number of trip outliers. In the example above, there are 1421 distance trip outliers and the current filter settings show only 644 of those.

Trip outliers can also be filtered by date using the date selection control:

The date and time selectors define the range date of trips to be loaded from database, where the left selector defines the earliest date and time, and the right selector defines the latest date and time. Trip data is loaded from the database when the curved arrow button is pressed. To the right of it there is a utility button that will help you load data from specified time intervals:

Selecting one of the options will set the appropriate time interval and will load the appropriate data. Note that these controls do not simply filter the existing data; they actually force the loading of new data limited by the trip start and end dates.

Generic text can be filtered using the text filter control:

Use this for license plates, driver name and places. Note that numbers and dates are not affected by this filter. Outlier statuses are filtered using the following set of check boxes:

Only the checked trip outlier statuses are displayed in the list. Check the All option to select all statuses. Please see the next section to learn how to change the trip outlier status.

The number of legs in a trip can be used to filter trip outliers using the leg filter control:

By default, Frotcom Analytics only displays trip outliers that have only one leg. These outliers are much easier to analyse, but you will still have the option of showing trip outliers with more legs, using this filter.

You can also choose to see only trip outliers whose detection values have exceeded the allowable maximum (e.g. the trips that significantly exceeded the normal mileage), fell below the allowable minimum (e.g. the trips that significantly consumed less fuel than the normal consumption) or both. This filter is selectable through the following control:

By default, only the outliers that have exceeded the maximum allowable value are displayed. It might be useful to display only the ones that fell below the minimum to detect GPS issues in trips that were detected as being too short, for instance.

The two other buttons available in the toolbar relate to report settings. If you want to highlight a specific area of the map when issuing a trip outlier report, position the map to your liking (center and zoom) and then press the Add properties button (on the left):

To remove this option and show the default map zoom when generating the report, press the Remove properties button (on the right).
