Vehicle infobox - Tachograph Driving Times (STCO)

Updated

Tachograph driving times collected directly from the smart tachographs (STCO) are shown in the Map > Infobox.

This is particularly useful because you can see the driving times recorded on the tachograph. And, in addition, in case your drivers have driving times performed outside Frotcom vehicles.

The driving times panel by default will open with the STCO activated:

This option is only visible on vehicles with Tachograph Driving times activated, please check with your Frotcom Partner the activation of this feature on your vehicles.

You can also see the Frotcom TCO driving times, by clicking:

Your preference will be saved.

This panel has five visualization modes:

  • Elapsed driving time;
  • Remaining driving time;
  • Regular daily rest period;
  • Reduced daily rest period;
  • Complete driving times.

You can select which to see on the hamburger menu:

Important note 1: Rules to show the STCO values

Reading all the following fields from the tachograph CAN Bus is mandatory;

  • Continuous Driving Time;
  • Current Daily Driving Time;
  • Driver1 Cumulated Driving Time Previous And Current Week;
  • Current Weekly Driving Time;
  • Remaining Driving Time Of Current Week;
  • End Of Last Daily Rest Period;
  • End Of Last Weekly Rest Period;
  • End Of Second Last Weekly Rest Period;
  • Remaining 10h Driving Time;
  • Remaining Reduced Daily Rest Periods;
  • Multi Manning Detection Status.

During the testing phase was observed that some tachographs were not sending all the necessary fields to have complete information in Infobox and Current Driving Times page. To prevent displaying inaccurate data, Frotcom will discard all the data instead of showing incomplete information in the Infobox and Current Driving Times page.

Important note 2: Tachograph counter driving times

Please note that sending these values may not be enabled on your tachographs.

You'll be able to read the real-time driving times directly from the tachograph via reading from the Tachograph Counter functionality – displays daily/weekly remaining driving and rest times on the tachograph menu.
Note that these parameters can be optional on your tachograph - meaning that by default not all the tachographs have this feature enabled/supported from the factory.
For example – VDO DTCO tachographs support the Counter functionality from version 2.1, however in OEM tachograph versions – non-universal tachographs – meant specifically for truck manufacturers i.e. Mercedes/DAF – Counter functionality can be disabled from the factory and it could not be activated.

In order to properly read these IO elements with a Frotcom GPS tracker – the Counter functionality has to be enabled.

  • VDO DTCO 2.1 tachograph can be updated via “DTCO VDO Counter Update Card” – P/N A2C5951660366;
  • VDO DTCO 3.0 versions and above can have the Counter functionality enabled by entering the license key provided by the manufacturer - P/N 2910002025700

To see if the real-time driving times will be read from the tachograph, contact the local workshop, specifying the tachograph part number, and follow the workshop instructions if any are required.

Important note 3: Graphs page and Reports information

The Tachograph Driving times will be displayed only in the Infobox and Current Driving Times page. The Graphs and Reports will consider Frotcom Driving Times.
